The great family of international kart racing is getting ready for the two events in the north of Europe. Next weekend, in fact, the European circus is moving to Finland, where the penultimate round of the CIK-FIA European Champs is taking place from 19th to 23rd July. Also the last round of the CIK FIA Academy Trophy is scheduled. Then, the following week, it will be time to head to Sweden, to Kristianstad, where the titles of the four categories - OK, OKJ, KZ and KZ2 will be awarded. Alaharma is going to host another CIK-FIA event after the round of the Formula Super A World Championship in 2002. The 231 drivers of the OK and OKJ will be challenging each other on the Powerpark Circuit. Both the categories are at their 4th round and the current leaders will try to gain as much ground as possible on their pursuers, before the last, decisive event in Sweden. The junior drivers of the Karting Academy Trophy are, instead, at their 3rd and last round, all eager to do their best for the final sprint.

The race of Sunday 23rd will be streamed live thanks to the cameras provided by WSK Promotion. The images will be also used for the special TV report on air the following week on Motorsport.TV.

The live streaming will be available on cikfiachampionship.com and cikfia.tv from 10:25am with the last Heats, followed by the Drivers’ Parade and the great show of the Finals.

The results are still unpredictable.
The 1,326 metres of the Scandinavian track are going to host heated battles. In the OK the Spanish David Vidales (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont) is only a point ahead of the French Theo Pourchaire (Kosmic-Vortex). Also the Italian Lorenzo Travisanutto (Zanardi-Parilla), the English Clement Novalak (Tony Kart-Vortex) and the Polish Karol Basz (Kosmic-Vortex) are very closed. The British Jonny Edgar (Exprit-TM-Vega), the OKJ leader, has a narrow margin on the German O’neill Muth (Zanardi-Parilla) and on his fellow countryman Harry Thompson (FA Kart-Vortex); these last two drivers are closely pursued by the French Hadrien David (Zanardi-Parilla) and the English Cristopher Lulham (Tony Kart-Parilla). The Belgian Xavier Handsaeme is the leader in the Academy, while the Dutch Tijmen van del Helm and the French Sami Meguetounif are in second and third position. For the final sprint there is room also for the Dutch Mike van Vugt and the English Joseph Taylor, fourth and fifth (all on Exprit-Vortex-Bridgestone).
