[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ecent winner of the 2016 FIA Formula 3 European Championship, in 2017 Lance Stroll will be a works driver for the F.1 Williams team, taking the place of Felipe Massa, who will hang up his helmet at the end of the season.

In 2014, his single-seater debut year, Lance already made a name for himself by winning the Italian F.4 Championship driving for Prema Powerteam.

Making it to F.1 is undoubtedly an event which requires celebration and Lance treated himself to a day’s karting, on a KZ-engined Zanardi chassis, at South Garda Karting in Lonato (Brescia, Italy). Stroll was supported out on the track by Dino Chiesa, his former team manager during his time in karting.

Dino, pictured together with Lance, had already worked with drivers linked to the Williams F.1 scene, such as Nico Rosberg, in the MBM karting team, and Alex Zanardi, who lends his name to CRG’s karting range
