[dropcap]A[/dropcap]nother former kart driver could not resist the lure of karting: this time it’s the turn of Ronnie Quintarelli.

The Italian, currently a Nissan driver for the works Nismo team, is ready to start the new season in the Super GT championship with the goal of winning a fifth title, which he lost out on last year in the very last race at Motegi.

Ronnie, born in 1979, has had a brilliant career in the world of karting. 1999 was his best season, in which he won the Formula C European Championship and came second in the Formula Super A World Championship.

The last karting world championship in which Quintarelli took part was in 2003, in Sarno, in the Formula A class, when he had already made the step up to cars. Also back then, his return was with team Birel: at the end of the final spent climbing up the field, he managed fourth place; a good result given his meagre specific preparation.

This is the first statement made by Ronnie Quintarelli after the news about his participation to the KZ World Championship that will be held in Wackersdorf, Germany:

I’m extremely happy to be back racing karts with BirelArt, participating in the KZ World Championship.

As soon as I received this offer I didn’t think twice and immediately decided to accept this great challenge.

It will be really exciting to race again with the great champions in this class.

To prepare for the SUPER GT races in Japan in the best possible way, I have always thought that karts are the best preparation and I have never stopped driving karts over all these years.

First of all, I can’t wait to meet up with all my friends in the karting world again, with whom I spent wonderful years during my youth. It will also be really fascinating to drive BirelArt chassis with TM motors.

I would like to thank BirelArt and TM Racing for this great opportunity
