TKART Staff

The brand, with an Italian soul but firmly established in the US, unveils its 2017 chassis: the Rapido V1, a revamped version of its flagship product, and the Laguna SE, a new entry, also offered in a "Black Edition" version

The basis of the first of the two new 2017 Italkart chassis keeps its main structure unchanged, also because after victories in the Rotax US Open, Skusa Supernationals, Rock Island GP and F-Series, the saying “never change a winning team” has never rung truer". However, Italkart did not rested on its laurels and decided to improve its kart even further.
With regard to the non-shifter engine version alone, work was carried out on the fairings, changing from the previous FP7 solution (still used on the KZ version) to the KG 505. This plastics kit guarantees a reduction in air resistance, as well as a weight saving of 1.5 Kg; both key aspects, especially on direct-drive karts.

Although none are particularly substantial (the approval remains the same), several changes have been made to the 2017 chassis compared to previous versions. Starting with the oval-shaped steering wheel grip, the circumference of which has been increased by 5 cm to optimise grip and comfort.
There is also an innovation on the camber adjustment system, thanks to a solution that allows micrometric adjustments using a hex screw and independently with respect to the caster, adjusted by replacing the eccentric.
Also with regard to the front, there is greater scope for height adjustment, thanks to a higher number of washers (6) compared to the previous 4.
Lastly, a small modification to the rear brake now allows easier adjustment of the rear track.
