This past weekend the Ocala Gran Prix circuit hosted the mid-series double-header event (rounds 3 & 4 of six) of the 2014 Florida Winter Tour FK Racing series. A weekend marked my poruing rain, but also plenty of entertainment and action-packed racing with Birel claiming the spotlight.
In the Tag Senior, in fact, American driver Dan Roeper, who just joined the Birel team, debuted at the wheel of a Birel RY30 S6 in the best of all possible ways: besides a pole position and a fastest lap, the Saturday final race victory.
His impressive performance on Saturday, amidst difficult track conditions and a shuffling field, made for a real racing show for all fans watching. And Dan also kept up the show in Sunday's round 4, proving he is competitive in any condition: despite the many contacts, in fact, he closed the final race with a nice 4th place and once more the best lap.
The Birel-equipped MRP Motorsport team also collected nice results with Matt Solarczyk in TagJunior, 2nd in Round 3 and 6th in Round 4, and with Kurt Mathewson in the Shifter Masters, twice on the podium: 2nd on Saturday and 3rd on Sunday.
