The 2017 Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth gets underway this weekend on March 31

28 drivers, from 17 different countries racing for 12 teams. Free practice will be held on Friday March 31 with qualifying and racing on April 1st and 2nd.

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n just on 48 hours, the 1.4 turbo engines of the Italian F4 Championship will fire into life for the first practice sessions of the 2017 season. And again, the drivers and teams that will feature in the race weekend will come from all over the world.
The programme includes two free practice session on Friday: at 11:35 and 16:55; both over 40 minutes. Qualifying takes place on Saturday morning at 9:35 (divided into 2 x 15 minute sessions) to decide the starting grids.
The starting grid of Race 1 (28 min + 1 lap) will be determined based on the times of each driver after the first session. If two or more drivers attain an identical time, priority will be given to the driver who achieved the time first.

The grid for Race 3 (which this year will be held over 28 minutes + 1 lap), will be made up by the second best times achieved by drivers in any of the qualifying sessions.
The first Race will be held on Saturday at 16:55. Races 2 and 3 will be held on Sunday at 10:10 and 17:10 respectively.
All three races over the weekend will award points towards the championships, including the Overall Driver’s Title, The Rookie Trophy (for Rookie Drivers in the series), the Woman’s Trophy (for Lady racers) and the Team’s Trophy.
