Brandon selects the best drivers for the final rush in KF and KFJ.
All predictions were wrong at the end of today’s races in Brandon, the venue of the second out of three rounds of the CIK-FIA European  KF & KFJ Championship. This is a fact which we should always keep in mind in motorsport. Today, the unexpected winners of the two Finals were the English Tom Joyner (Zanardi-TM-Vega) in KF and the Idonesian Presley Martono (Tony Kart-LeCont) IN KFJ. Their success brings a remarkable chance in both the standings and the final round of the Championship – on schedule next 26th July in Kristianstad (Sweden) – is going to be as uncertain as ever. This second round was hosted by the PF Circuit, an authentic shrine for international karting, in Lincolnshire. The outsiders closed the gap with the top drivers and now the final rush is going to be absolutely thrilling. All the details of this fantastic weekend will be discussed in the special TV report which will be aired next week by Motors TV.

Tom Joyner wins in KF.
The KF Final was simply breath-taking. The English Tom Joyner (Zanardi-TM-Vega) won after a recovery which started in the Prefinal, where he had recovered eleven positions. This result allowed him to start from the third row of the Final and to accomplish his mission with a spectacular victory. Joyner took the lead during the first laps of the race and he kept it until the chequered flag. Ben Hanley (Croc-TM Vega), after winning the Prefinal, led the race for a while, but he was then obliged to give in and leave the leadership to his fellow countryman. Hanley kept the second position, but he never had the chance to overtake the leader. Also the Dutch Richard Verschoor (Exprit-Vortex-Vega) took part in the battle for the top positions, but he eventually finished fourth leaving the last step of the podium to the American Juan Correa (Energy-TM-Vega). Hanley still leads the Championship ahead of Joyner who is now in second position. The Italian Felice Tiene (CRG-Parilla-Vega) keeps his third position even though he did not finish the Final because of a contact.

Martono conquers the KF Junior.
The Junior category did not fall short of expectations: the two races were thrilling and full of interesting duels. Eventually, it was the Indonesian Presley Martono (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont) who won both the Prefinal and the  Final. However, the  Asian driver had to fight hard to achieve this important result. In fact, Martono in the Final managed to overtake the surprising British driver Alex Quinn (CRG-Parilla-LeCont) with only two laps remaining. Third step of the podium for another Brit, Clement Novalak (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont). He started from the fifth row and scored the third position thanks to an impressive series of overtakings. Martono and Novalak are now in second and third position in the Championship. The leader is always the Belgian Kenny Roosens (Kosmic-Parilla-LeCont), whose performance in Brandon was not as good as expected. However, thanks to his seventh place, he scored the points he needed to keep the leadership.
