Giorgia Miani
09 September 2017

Great battles in Wackersdorf (D) for the CIK-FIA World KZ Championship: four different winners in the heats. The Int. KZ2 Super Cup starts with 6 different winners of its heats. On cikfiachampionship.com and cikfia.tv the live streaming of the Finals tomorrow from 10:30.

More frontrunners for the world title.
Qualifying of the CIK-FIA World KZ Championship, which is taking place in Wackersdorf (D), said that there are more drivers who can aim at the title than expected. This is the most significant outcome of today’s Heats (in the photo above): all the four races had a different winner. The same can be said about the KZ2; the drivers of this category are taking part, on the Prokart Raceland circuit, in the CIK-FIA International KZ2 Super Cup. Six drivers won at least one of the 15 Heats which have taken place so far. The competition is getting more and more uncertain and there are great expectations for the Finals of tomorrow afternoon.

The race for the title live in streaming.
The media coverage provided by WSK Promotion covers all the 1,222 metres of the circuit of Wackersdorf, right in the heart of Bavaria. Tomorrow, starting from 10.30am with the last Heats, it will be possible to enjoy the live streaming of the event on the two web channels cikfia.tv and cikfiachampionship.com. After the Heats, the programme continues with the Presentation of Drivers and then the Finals. During the following week, the special TV report with a recap of the German weekend on Motorsport.TV. Above, one of the preview video clips.

Everybody stands a chance to win the Kz World title.
Yesterday Anthony Abbasse (Sodi-TM-Bridgestone) had immediately laid his cards on the table setting the best time in the World KZ Championship Qualifying. Today the Frenchman did not fall short of expectations and won the first Heat. Then his rivals counterattacked: the Czech Patrik Hajek, in the photo above, the Finnish Simo Puhakka (both on Kosmic-Vortex) and the Italian Paolo De Conto (CRG-TM), reigning World Champion, won the other races. Four Heats with four different winners are here to confirm how uncertain the competition for the title is, even without taking into consideration drivers such as the English Jordon Lennox-Lamb (Tony Kart-Vortex), the French Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K-TM), the Italian Fabian Federer (CRG-TM) and the Dutch Marijn Kremers (BirelArt-TM): they all finished with very narrow gaps from the winners, always in the first three positions. With two Heats remaining – to be run tomorrow – there is still a lot to be said.

Longhi ahead among lots of rivals in KZ2.
Riccardo Longhi (BirelArt-TM-Bridgestone, above) is the driver to beat in the CIK-FIA International KZ2 Super Cup: the Italian driver won all the Heats he took part in and at the end of the day he gathered five victories: he is definitely aiming at being the pole sitter of tomorrow’s Final. However, his opponents are eager to give him a hard time: the Italian Alex Irlando (Sodi-TM) won four races, the Swedish Benjamin Persson (CRG-TM) won three times, while two victories were achieved by the two Italian drivers Marco Zanchetta (Maranello-TM) and Francesco Celenta (Praga-TM) and by the German Daniel Stell (Mach 1-TM). So, the Cup remains uncertain. Nothing has been decided yet and not even Longhi can be sure of the pole position in the Final, given that there are still three Heats to be raced tomorrow morning. Other drivers can join the battle for the trophy and the list of frontrunners is going to be longer than expected.
