F4: STROLL WINS RACE 2 IN MUGELLO
TKART Staff
12 July 2014

HOT NEWS - TKART - FORMULA 4 (MUGELLO) - Canadian Lance Stroll wins the second race of Round 3 in the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth.

The first news of the day is rainfall: the directorate declares a "wet race". Canadian Lance Stroll (Prema Power Team) doesn’t even seem to notice and seems as comfortable on a wet track as he was earlier in dry  conditions. He immediately jumps past various rivals (he was starting from P9 since race 2 features a grid inversion for the top 10 finishers of race 1) and works his way to the lead. He stays there lap after lap, doing a perfect race.

Andrea Russo (Diegi Motorsport) also looks comfortable in the rain and closes second, on the rise form 5th on grid. The Italian works his way right up to Stroll, then a couple of mistakes slow him down: he ends 5 seconds after the winner.

Leonardo Pulcini (Euronova Racing by Fortec Italia Motorsport) , instead, conquers third place after a heated battle with Brandon Maisano (Prema Power Team). Too bad he was held back in the first laps, or he could’ve done better. He was fast enough to score the best lap of the race at 1’49.918 in conditions that only real champions can handle: bravo!

A note of mention goes to Takashi Kasai (Prema Power Team) who closes fourth and finally lands in the top 5, right behind his teammates.
