Activity continues on the track for the FIA Karting World Championship KZ on the Le Mans Karting International (France). After the first day of Friday, in which the qualifications and the first qualifying heats took place, on Saturday all the remaining heats for the four categories present in the race were held: KZ, KZ2 (FIA Karting World Cup), KZ2 Masters (FIA Karting International Masters’ Super Cup) and Academy (FIA Karting Academy Trophy, Round 3). The starting grids for Sunday’s pre-finals were then decided.

KZ: Simo Puhakka and Victor Gustafsson compete for the top

  • Everything is decided in the evening, when the artificial lights of the track are now on, as regards the intermediate classification of the KZ2 category. David Trefilov (Maranello SRP Racing Team - Maranello - TM Racing) is practically perfect and, after the pole position obtained in qualifying, records six wins, a third position and four fastest laps. However, at the end of the last heat, he is underweight at the controls and, consequently, is ranked last, with 2 additional penalty points.

  • Trefilov falls from the first position to the 12th and hands the leadership in the hands of Arthur Carbonnel (CRG Racing Team - CRG - TM Racing). The Frenchman managed well in the qualifying heats, with three wins and four more Top 3 appearances.

  • Samuel Luyet (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex) plays on consistency and this strategy pays off in terms of classification: in fact, the Swiss collects a victory and four second places and now second. He made a significant recovery of 10 positions by Jorge Pescador (CRG Racing Team - CRG - TM Racing). The Spaniard wins three times and scores four podiums, but despite the same penalty points as Luyet

  • After a subdued start in the first heat, Arvid Lindblad (SP Motorsport - KR - TM Racing) puts on the turbo and impresses with his speed on the track (four fast laps achieved in the seven heats). With three consecutive victories, the British member of the Red Bull Junior Team is fifth in the ranking.

  • Bravo also Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART Racing - Birel Art - TM Racing), another very young man in the race and at the first experiences with shifter karts, who remains stable in fifth position. The Italian can boast two wins and two fastest laps in the qualifying heats and is now fourth in the standings.

  • Valentino Fritsch (Birel ART Racing KSW - Birel Art - TM Racing) jumps sixth, while behind - despite four victories - Danilo Albanese (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) moves back to seventh position after collecting a ninth position and a 14th in the third and in the fourth heat. Then we find Felix Arnold (Maranello SRP Racing Team - Maranello - TM Racing), eighth.

  • Norton Andreasson (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex), tenth, enters the Top 10, ahead of Robert Kindervater (Birel ART Racing KSW - Birel Art - TM Racing), tenth. A comeback of 8 positions for Daniel Vasile (DR - DR - Modena Engines), 11th.

  • The ranking continues with the aforementioned Trefilov, Matteo Spirgel (CPB Sport - Sodi - TM Racing), 13th, Andrea Dale (Andrea Dale - CRG - TM Racing), 14th and Siim Leedmaa (AIX Racing Team - Tony Kart - TM Racing), 15th. In slight difficulty Tom Leuillet (Leclerc by Lennox Racing - Birel Art - TM Racing), reigning European champion, who ends the day on Saturday 16th.

  • With a substantial haul of a win and two second positions, Jeroen Bos (Solgat Motorsport - Birel Art - TM Racing) easily keeps the lead even at the end of Saturday. The Dutch driver is a candidate as the main favorite for the victory of the final, scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

  • The host Charles Fiault (Herve Leret - Sodi - TM Racing), six times winner of the 24 Hours Karting of Le Mans, also obtained a success and reached the podium twice, but the third position in the first heat places him second in the standings intermediate.

  • The third and fourth position see two other French at the top of the standings, respectively Thomas Letailleur (Thomas Letailleur - Sodi - TM Racing), with a win to his credit, and Johan Renaux (Johan Renaux - Redspeed - TM Racing), also him with a triumph and three fast laps.

  • However, it did not go well for Davide Foré (Renda Motorsport - Birel Art - TM Racing), 28th in the first heat due to a contact with Jordon Musser (Jordon Musser - Birel Art - TM Racing).
