03 October 2020

A day entirely dedicated to the Qualifying Heats the one that came to an end at South Garda Karting. After the morning heats in the wet, in the afternoon the races were all held under the sun, in dry conditions. Only tomorrow, after the last scheduled heats, will we know the starting grids of the finals.

KZ2: Kremers wins both heats

Tires: Vega

  • Marijn Kremers (Birel ART Racing – Ricciardo Kart – TM Racing) maintains the leadership of KZ after the two heats raced today, one in the wet and one in the dry. The Dutch reigning World Champion and 2020 European Champion was really good at defending himself in the second heat, when, due to a problem with the braking system, he lost the advantage he had accumulated, But he kept his cool and held onto first place until the checkered flag.

  •  Second position for Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K Racing Team – Formula K – TM Racing) able to confirm yesterday’s good performance in qualifying.

  • In third place we find Stan Pex (KR Motorsport – KR – TM Racing). The Dutchman is really in great shape. In the first heat he finished 11th due to a contact on the first lap in the wet, while in the second heat he finished 2nd. It’s worth noticing that he posted the best lap in both races.

  • Fourth place for Bas Lammers (Sodikart – Sodi – TM Racing), who is handed a penalty of 5 seconds in the first heat, and precedes his teammate Adrien Renaudin (Sodikart – Sodi – TM Racing) as well as Mirko Trosellini (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME).

  • From 7th to 10th place we find Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex), Petr Ptacek (Praga Racing Team – Praga / TM Racing), Luca Corberi (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) and Pedro Hiltbrand (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex).

  • Jorrit Pex (KR Motorsport – KR – TM Racing) and Matteo Viganò (Leclerc By Lennox Racing – Birel ART – TM Racing) prove to be fast but their provisional ranking, respectively 16th and 17th, is spoiled due to a retirement in one heat.

KZ2: Giannoni leader provvisorio

Tires: Vega

  • Lorenzo Giannoni (CPB Sport – Sodi – TM Racing) with two first positions, a second and a fourth place is the provisional leader of KZ2. The Italian is followed by compatriot Simone Cunati (Modena Kart – Birel Art – TM Racing), capable of one victory, two seconds and a fourth place.

  • Poleman Viktor Gustavsson (Leclerc By Lennox Racing – Birel ART – TM Racing) wins one heat and always ranks fourth in the other three heats, slipping into provisional third position ahead of Matteo Zanchi (Zanchi Motorsport – Birel Art – TM Racing).

  • The tmporary fifth place in the penalty ranking goes to a very fast Leonardo Marseglia (Birel ART Racing – Birel ART – TM Racing) who, despite an unfavorable starting grid position, obtained 3 third places, a sixth and also scores a fastest lap.

  • In sixth and seventh place we find Jean Luyet (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) and Benjamin Tornqvist (Leclerc By Lennox Racing – Birel ART – TM Racing).

  • Eighth position for Arthur Carbonnel (CPB Sport – Sodi – TM Racing), the real star of the day with his three victories in the heats. Too bad for the 17th place in the last heat which ruins his run.

  • Same fate for Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) after a victory and two second places, he pays for an accident in the last heat of the day.
