HOT NEWS - TKART - Sarno (Italy) – Round 1 - KZ CIK-FIA European Championship  - Camponeschi wins in front of Hanley and Ardigò.

After the heats and prefinal of the KZ, where 2014 Champion, Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart/Vortex), had always kept the lead of each race, something changes in the final. Immediately at the start, Flavio Camponenschi (Tony Kart/Vortex), starting from second position, takes away the lead from Ardigò, leaving him to battle with the third, the English Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions/TM Racing).

After the first 7 laps, where the leading group of 8 drivers was very compact, and performance given by the new (Bridgestone) set of tires mounted by the competitors kept lap times similar to one another, the threesome leading in front takes some advantage and shows the battle for final success is between them.

And it is after a few laps of studying the lines of Ardigò, that Hanley manages to pass and goes on chasing Camponeschi, who, in the meantime, has conquered some advantage on Ardigò. The latter is actually not really able to keep the pace. The performance difference between the two Tony Kart/Vortex official drivers might have been dew to a choice by the team to risk something more in the engine carburation of one driver versus the other.

An incredible Hanley in the meantime catches up on Camponenschi, with best lap times one after the other. Especially in the first fast corner of sector 1, just after the start line and before the second and longest straight of the circuit, Hanley manages to catch up 0.1 at the time, on laps that differ in the other two sectors of just a few hundredth of a second between the top three drivers. Somehow, either the TM engine, but most probably the better line held by the English driver, give him a much better speed compared to the Italian leader.

In the meantime, Jèrèmy Iglesias (Alpha Karting/TM Racing) manages to shorten the distance between the first three, taking advantage of their battle. But, if Ardigò never seems to be able to battle for the lead, Hanley at a certain point is almost there on the rear wheels of Camponeschi. Differences in lap times as ridiculously low, thousands of a second, in favor of the English driver. Finally, these differences are not enough to attack the leader, as laps go by and the end of the battle is closer.

Camponeschi, after the eighteen laps of the final, wins the first race of the Euro KZ Championship, with almost one second of advantage on Hanley and 2.268 on a slightly undertone Ardigò.

Patrick Hajek (Praga/Parilla) has a wonderful second half of the race, overtaking Iglesias (finally fifth) and ending up fourth. Simo Puhakka (CRG/Maxter) will be final sixth, followed by Jordon Lennox-Lamb (Birel Art/Parilla) seventh.
