While the motorsports world was put on hold, ROK Cup Promotions continued to put the finishing touches on their 2020 ROK Fest program. With ROK Fest East taking place at the freshly repaved Charlotte Motor Speedway and ROK Fest West September at Sonoma Raceway, series officials, teams and competitors are excited to get back on track and see their extended motorsports family.

It has been a while, and I’m happy to see the karting community finally starting to move forward again. We were very fortunate not to have any of our events affected by COVID-19,” explains ROK Cup Promotions Director of Operations, Garett Potter. “Of course, everything slowed down as the motorsports and event industry was put on hold, the good news I see coming out of this for our industry is the club programs as they have seen a surge of old and new racers. I hope this trend continues, and we can all capitalize on this opportunity. This unique time has given us some time to get caught up, be prepared as well as venture into some new forms of racing. However, it is time to get back to the track, and we could not be more excited.

Set for July 30th through August 2nd at the famed Charlotte Motor Speedway, the ROK Cup USA ROK Fest East event will be the third major karting event at the reestablished kart track and one that has been on the radar since announced.

Potter continues, “We have been monitoring the fluid situation that this pandemic has given us and taking it all in stride. We have had to make a few changes, most notably that the registration process will only be available online, as each and every entrant will need to pre-enter. We need to submit our participant count to the county once this is completed and after July 13th no new registrations will allowed. Just to be clear, NO track side registration will be available. We will be following the local and federal state recommendations as well as guidelines set forth by the facility. All of this information will be available on the ROK Cup USA website within the next week.”

The most important topic is the ROK Cup Promotions prize fund as ROK Fest East class champions in Mini ROK, Junior ROK, Senior ROK, Master ROK, Shifter Master ROK, and Shifter ROK will be invited to compete at the ROK Cup Superfinal in Italy later this year. Vice-Champions in these classes will earn ROK the RIO entry packages while third place finishers will receive one weekend of their choosing to the 2021 Florida Winter Tour. Micro ROK and 100cc Champions will receive an entry package to ROK the RIO while the Vice-Champion will receive entry only. The third place finisher will receive race tires, fuel and oil (entry fee not included) for ROK the RIO in November.

Please stay tuned for more details on the 2020 ROK Cup Promotions racing program including ROK Fest West and ROK the RIO information coming soon!
