With the last round of the WSK Final Cup that took place in Lonato on November 13th, international karting officially enters its winter break. The sporting season for the international categories was long and demanding, with more than 25 races held from February to November. In addition to the FIA Karting races and the European and World Championships for the KZ, OK and OK Junior classes, the calendar also included many preparatory meetings for these competitions, among which more than 10 WSK events stand out, where also the Mini class has competed in, as well as the RGMMC races, such as the Champions of the Future.

The role of international races for a Factory Team like CRG is a priority for two main reasons: on one hand, as the main source of technical development, and at the same time as a priority marketing showcase for racing products. CRG has always been involved in all international classes, which it manages with a dedicated structure with a very high technical profile: the CRG Racing Team. The activity of the CRG Racing Team is the know-how guarantee that is directly transferred to series production and consequently to all CRG customers involved in the National Championships all over the world.

From a sporting point of view, the 2022 season was a very positive year for CRG, with two shining FIA titles won in the KZ class: the FIA World Championship KZ with Viktor Gustafsson and the World Cup KZ2 with Arthur Carbonnel. In the direct drive classes, the performances were also very positive, with two drivers in the top ten (Gabriel Gomez and Olin Galli) in the FIA World Championship OK and many important placings during the season.

For some seasons now, CRG has also been involved in the Mini category, increasingly important in terms of the market and for which a dedicated technical structure will be set up in 2023. The technical contribution that the CRG Racing Team provides to series production is remarkable and every year it contributes in an important way to defining the technical characteristics of the single chassis marketed for the following season. From this point of view, 2022 confirmed the competitiveness of the 32mm Road Rebel model for the KZ classes, often joined by the 30mm KT2 chassis, which, with the 2022 updates, was the basis for all the drivers in the direct drive classes.

The winter break will be short and all the technical staff will remain active for the technical tests, while the management is defining the agreements with the drivers and the race calendars. The 2023 drivers and sports programs will be made official shortly.
