The 17th  edition of the Winter Cup, the first international level event of the season, took place last  weekend on the South Garda circuit in Lonato (BS), Italy. Despite the frigid temperatures and a wet track in the finals, 273 drivers competed in three categories: KZ2 shifter, KF2 and KF3.

In KZ2 spectators watched a great race that ended with the triumph of Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart/Vortex) ahead of Arnaud Kozlinski (PCR/TM) and Anthony Abbasse (Sodi Kart/Maxter). Placing right behind them  was an all Italian trio comprising Mirko Torsellini (CRG/Maxter), Marco  Ardigò (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Marco Zanchetta (Energy/TM).
Great show also in KF2 with Max Verstappen (Intrepid/TM) winning by a gap over Antonio Fuoco (Tony/Vortex) and Dennis Olsen (Energy/TM) who led ahead of Tom Joyner (LH/Bmb) and the Formula K couple Oystein Helgheim-Dave Blom (Formula K/TM).
In KF3 George Russsel (Intrepid/TM) dominated the game, taking off from the group and winning. Placing behind him were Robin Hansson (Tony/Vortex), Danilo Albanese (Energy/TM), Martin Kodric (FA/Vortex), Ilari Piispanen (LH/Bmb), and Guillermo Russo (FA/Vortex).
