Second consecutive success in the OK category for the DST engine in the FIA Karting European Championship, on the occasion of the second round in Zuera, thanks to Joseph Turney. Pole position and double podium in OKJ class with the DJT unit.

OK – A "sprint" start for our DST engine in the master class of single-speed karts already in the Friday's qualifying, where James Egozi (Tony Kart Racing Team) signs the pole position, his first in such a category he is facing as a rookie. The qualifying heats do nothing but confirm the competitiveness of Vortex, with 11 victories in the 15 heats run (73%) and 5 fast laps as further booty.
At the end of the super heats, two drivers equipped with our engines are on the front row in the final: Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team), author of an almost perfect run with six victories between the qualifying heats and the super heats, and Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart Racing Team), OK world champion in charge. At the start, Turney immediately takes the lead and, apart from the very first laps when he aims at protecting his tires for the final part of the race, his leadership is never questioned, so much so that he easily finishes first under the chequered flag. On the other hand, the Finnish driver does not have an easy time from the outside line, but ends the race in the Top 6 list, with Ean Eyckmans (EGP Racing Team) behind him, already on the Zuera podium two weeks ago on the occasion of the Champions of the Future Euro Series.
A total of 12 Vortex-powered drivers take part in the final, practically 1/3 of the starting grid: in fact, we also find Egozi, David Walther (Koski Motorsport), Juho Valtanen (Tony Kart Racing Team), Oscar Wurz (Tony Kart Racing Team), Keanu Al Azhari (Tony Kart Racing Team), Freddie Slater (Ricky Flynn Motorsport), Oscar Pedersen (Ward Racing), Maxim Rehm (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) and Coskun Irfan (Ward Racing).

OKJ - Also in the "Junior" class, the DJT engine proves its potential right from the start, with a triple win in qualifying signed by Guillaume Bouzar (Koski Motorsport), Thomas Strauven (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) and Arthur Dorison (Tony Kart Racing Team), the fastest drivers in the three respective groups. In the following stages of the weekend, Vortex records 8 victories in the qualifying heats (just more than half of the scheduled races) and adds two more successes in the super heats on Sunday morning.
The final sees two Vortex engines on the front row, with Dorison in pole position and Bouzar next to him on the outside. Dorison himself is the protagonist of the race, fighting together with his teammate Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Tony Kart Racing Team) for a place on the podium. Both hit the target, with the Thai driver second and the French driver third. Impressive recovery, instead, for Marcus Saeter (Ward Racing), able to climb up 21 positions in the ranking and to finish in the Top 10, ahead of Maciej Gladysz (Ricky Flynn Motorsport). Dmitry Matveev (Koski Motorsport), winner of Round 2 of the "COFT" right in Zuera and also of Round 1 of the European Championship in Portimao, despite a not so lucky weekend, signs the fastest lap of the final, with Bouzar behind his teammate.
36% of the drivers qualified for the final are equipped with a Vortex engine. Attending the final race of the weekend there are Strauven, Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart Racing Team), Salim Hanna (Ricky Flynn Motorsport), Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart Racing Team), Enea Frey (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) and Alp Hasan Aksoy (Tony Kart Racing Team). Oleksandr Bondarev (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) also qualifies, but the Ukrainian has a bad accident in the eliminatory heats: therefore, we wish him a quick recovery.
