The third round of the WSK Super Master Series came to life with qualifying and the first heats.

Under cloudy skies although without rain, qualifying got underway: that was the weather situation for the third round of the WSK Super Master Series held at Muro Leccese at La Conca World Circuit. The WSK Series, after the suspension of the second round of the series at Lonato (which will be re-held over the weekend of March 31 to April 1 at Sarno), returned to the track with 234 drivers entered in all four categories (Mini, OKJ, OK and KZ2).

There was no great surprise with Paolo De Conto (CRG - CRG - TM Racing) fastest by 0.141 of a second over his closest rivals but the return of Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex), 7th on the grid (+0.412) seems to demonstrate that he has recovered from the rib injury that kept him out of action.

Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex), second, he was followed by the Sodikart pairing of Alex Irlando and Anthony Abbasse (Sodikart - Sodikart - TM Racing).

A great fifth place on the grid for the young CRG team driver Alessandro Giardelli (CRG - CRG - TM Racing), ahead of Matteo Viganò (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex).

Completing the top ten was Emil Skaras (Energy Corse - Energy - TM Racing) in 8th position, followed by Daniel Vasile (DR - DR / Modena) and Riccardo Longhi (Birel Art Racing - BirelArt - TM Racing).

Only 11th, but having his first race this season, was the driver who won here last year at Muro Leccese, Patrik Hajek (Kosmic Racing DPT - Kosmic - Vortex). Fifteenth and still searching for the ideal setup with his new team, Bas Lammers (Lion Kart Factory Racing Team - Lion Kart - TM Racing).

Luigi Coluccio (Birel Art Racing - BirelArt - TM Racing) took an incredible pole position  going more then two tenths of a second faster than Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart - Vortex) from KSM Schumacher Racing, who was fastest in the second group.

Third place for Roman Stanek (Kosmic Racing DPT - Kosmic - Vortex). After Nielsen, the top contenders for the championship are in the leading positions also after timed qualifying.
