Taking on their home facility and the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SummerNationals, Elite Karting Group (EKG) will bring three drivers to the ultra-fast New Castle Motorsports Park (NCMP) this weekend. With a trio of competitors entering the Senior ranks, Xander Clements, Daniel Berry, and Ian Bushey will be looking to work their way up the grid and claim the best results possible as the Pro Tour season closes.

"It has been a different year for us as we regroup and rebrand our program," explained Andy Gernand. "We have taken on two other chassis lines to run alongside VemmeKart, offering customers a choice of Vemme, CRG or OTK. I am pretty excited about this weekend and getting back to a national level track as we work our way towards the SKUSA SuperNationals."

Piloting Elite Karting Group branded karts, the three Senior drivers are no strangers to the spotlight. Being part of Elite Karting group means all three will work toward mastering teamwork and sharing information.

Woodstock, Georgia's Xander Clements will do battle in the X30 Senior class. Clements started racing karts at the age of eight at his local indoor track and transitioned to outdoor competition karting at the age of twelve. From there, Clements ran a couple of seasons of club level racing before making the jump to a national schedule on a part-time basis.

Daniel Berry is an 18-year-old from Jackson, Mississippi who began karting at fifteen and quickly progressed through the ranks from club races at NOLA Motorsports Park to national events, such as the WKA Manufacturers Cup in less than two years. In late 2017 and 2018, Berry competed in the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, but is returning to North America's top level of karting this weekend. In addition to racing, Berry also graduated high school a year early and began studying Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University in 2018.

Ian Bushey is the third Elite Karting Group driver getting back behind the wheel at NCMP this weekend. After eleven seasons of WKA Road Racing from Cadet on up to Shifters, Bushey claimed the 2015 Stock Leopard National Championship. Recently racing with Gernand's program at the Ocala round of the United States Pro Kart Series, this weekend Bushey will compete in the KA100 class. Bushey is from Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Gernand continued, "SKUSA is the biggest show that comes to town, and it is a great way to share the track with some of best in the world. EKG is about doing the best job possible, working together using SMART (specific, measurable, actionable, relevant and timely) goals and when it is all over, celebrating our success!"
