10 March 2019

Gabriele Mini has taken his maiden victory in the OK class after a masterclass drive in the final of the third round of WSK Super Master Series at the International Circuit La Conca in Muro Leccese.

After a complete domination of the qualifying heats, Juho Valtanen (Kosmic /Iame/Bridg) has easily took the victory in prefinal A, finishing in front of Taylor Barnard (KR/Iame/Bridg) and Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR/Iame/Bridg).

In prefinal B, Dexter Patterson (KR/Iame/Bridg) has taken beat by more than 3 seconds the Sicilian driver, Gabriele Mini (Parolin/TM Racing/ Bridg) who finished in front of CRG official driver, Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG/Iame/Bridg).

A crazy start of the race where the Kohtala Sports driver, Juho Valtanen after dominating the whole weekend, crashed at turn one. The Finn driver only managed to comeback to 23rd place after the crash.

Meanwhile, Gabriele Mini from Parolin Racing Kart took the lead ahead of Pedro Hiltbrand who overtook the Italian in the second lap. Despite that, Mini once again overtook the Spaniard driver to take the lead of the race.

Mini had no rival at all, and lead until the checker flag to take his maiden victory in the OK class. Dexter Patterson finished second after overtaking Hiltbrand with 4 laps remaining.

Behind them, decent comebacks from Kirill Smal (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) who started last and finished 10th. Also Joshua Dufek (KR/Iame/Bridg) and Grigory Alekseenkov (Tony Kart/TM Racing/Bridg) made great comebacks, stepping up eleven and ten positions respectively.

Dexter Patterson takes the lead of the championship with one race left. The Scottish driver has now 38 points of distance from the reigning world champion, Lorenzo Travisanutto. Behind them, Taylor Barnard with 81 points less, Gabriele Mini with 91 less than Patterson, while Dino Beganovic is 5th, just 110 points behind the leader

The next and final round of WSK Super Master Series will take place at the International Circuit of Napoli in Sarno, Italy during the 21st to the 24th of March.
