The unofficial end to the 2019 North American karting season is just around the corner as the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals are on the horizon. Already competing in one Las Vegas event this month, Speed Concepts Racing (SCR) returns to the RIO All-Suite Hotel and Casino to compete in the 23rd annual event with eight competitors, six hailing from the talent filled X30 Junior division.

“The SuperNationals is one of those events that is on everyone’s bucket list to win,” explained Mike Speed. “Fortunately, as a team we have had great success in Las Vegas and will look for more of that this coming weekend. The 2019 track layout looks very similar to the 2018 event, so we have a very good setup and starting point for when we hit the track on Wednesday for practice.”

With six drivers in the X30 Junior class, multi-time race winner Luca Mars will be looking to add to his 2019-win total. Fresh off a second-place podium result only three weeks ago, Mars is aiming to climb one step higher up over the November 20 – 24th weekend. Texas Pro Kart Challenge race winner Luke Lange will join Mars as he will race alongside Sunshine State Karting Challenge (SSKC) Champion and 2019 IAME International Final contender Kyffin Simpson. SSKC frontrunner Paul Bocuse will also throw his hat into the mix as he, Jace Park and Jack Jeffers enter their first SuperNationals in the X30 junior category.

Canadian National Champion Ayden Ingratta will be the lone Speed Concepts Racing entry in the IAME Mini Swift category as he returns to the SCR stable fresh off a top-ten finish three weeks ago. With the goal of finishing his season strong, Ingratta will look to continue his forward progression and momentum that he has gained in the second half of the 2019 racing season.

Always a threat to fight for a podium in the Masters category, Floridian Scott Roberts will be back again in X30 Masters category. Scoring multiple local and regional wins and podiums in 2019, including a strong run at the SKUSA SummerNationals at New Castle Motorsports Park, Roberts has his sights set high as he enters his final event of the season.

“As a team, we have been working tirelessly throughout the season to give our drivers what they need to win,” added Alex Speed. “We expect to win every race we enter but when you come to the SuperNats, there is just an increase in effort as the intensity ramps up a bit. Looking forward to Super Sunday!”

With on track action set to commence Wednesday morning, Speed Concepts Racing will hit the track for four practice sessions in the split schedule format. Thursday will be an important day as three practice sessions will lead into qualifying with the first wheel-to-wheel action taking place on Friday. With a total of three heat races, last chance qualifiers will run Saturday afternoon and set the grid for Super Sunday.
