If there is a person in the world of motorsports, whose tongue is as fast as his performance on the track, that is undoubtedly Giuseppe Gabbiani. Born in Piacenza, Italy, in 1957, “Beppe” is not just a talented driver who started out his career in karting and made it to F1, he is also a person with thousands of anecdotes, lived and told, with the passion of a true champion.

“Every time I think about this story, I laugh a lot. It’s 1974, the year I got into the first category. I go to Fano  [province of Pesaro Urbino, Italy – Ed.] for the testing and there I find Necchi and Patrese, two of the most prominent figures for all of the kart drivers of that time. On that track, there was a famous throttle-off with a 90° corner, a difficult turn that you approached it going very fast, about 130 km/h, and as a braking reference point you just had a tire.
