5 KART HELMETS APPROVED FOR CHILDREN

Jacopo Colombo
11 May 2022
In recent years, children's helmets have been put under the magnifying glass to find the ideal solution that combines maximum solidity of the structure, and therefore safety, with a weight suitable for the physical abilities of little drivers. For this reason Snell and FIA (the bodies responsible for establishing the safety helmet rules in terms) developed a special approval in 2016, which is still in force, which imposes, among other things, limit weights for helmets. (1,100 gr for the smaller sizes and 1,300 gr for the larger ones). Here are 5 models of CMR 2016 approved helmets (this is the name of the approval) suitable for drivers up to 15 years of age, each capable of standing out for a specific characteristic or technical quality.

“CARBON”: BELL KC7-CMR CARBON

This is the first and (at the moment) the only helmet model for children made of carbon, which makes it particularly light with its 1,095 g (sizes 54-56) and 1,130 g (sizes 57-59). It is based on the solid technical guidelines adopted by the HP7 model, developed with the contribution of various F1 drivers, to which are added the innovations introduced by Bell in recent years. Upon purchase, you can customise the internal padding, choosing from different colours: from the classic black and grey, to the more particular purple, yellow or green.

Indicative price

From around 1,159 euros to around 1,345 euros (VAT included), depending on the color of of the internal padding
