THE OILS FOR THE MIXTURE OF THE SINGLE-BRAND CLASSES AND THE USAGE PERCENTAGES OF THE WINNING TEAMS

Luca Barnaba

In single-brand championships, the regulations require the use of certain components or accessories. In most cases, these "regulatory requirements" also include the use of a specific lubricating oil for the preparation of the mixture, of which fixed usage percentages or maximum usage limits are also defined. In this article we have analysed the regulations of the four most common single-brand championships (with 2-stroke engines) (Easykart, IAME Series, ROK Cup, Rotax MAX Challenge) to understand which products are indicated and above all, where possible, what the usage percentages recommended by the winning teams are.

EASYKART

Easykart is the branded trophy of Birel Art, the historic chassis manufacturer and multi-titled team on the international karting scene.
The Easykart technical regulation defines the 2T Easykart lubricant produced by Exced as a mandatory product for single-speed classes and identifies precise usage percentages in relation to the class of use. For the Junior Shifter class, on the other hand, it is possible to use any CIK-FIA approved oil as long as the ratio between petrol and oil is 4%. Finally, for the BMB challenge it is possible to use any oil that is CIK-FIA approved, with a non-regulated usage percentage.
