Although at first glance the air filter appears as a simple component, in reality its construction involves a labor-intensive study of air flow and pressure waves, essential for an accessory which plays an important role in the functionality of the 2T kart engine performance. KG, being aware of this, has focused the development of the new Power airbox on the improvement of the air flow to the carburetor with a new rubber boot, while maintaining the same noise emission. To achieve this, it has dramatically redesigned and improved the lower part of the airbox, compared to the previous homologated model Nitro. Important changes for the filtering cartridge with the introduction of high-grade materials like polyester fabric, thanks to the partnership with Spring Filter, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-performance air filters in the field of motorsport.

THE POWER AIRBOX HAS AN INCREASED LOWER AIRBOX WHICH ALLOWS FOR MAXIMUM AIR FLOW TO THE CARBURETOR. THE FILTER IS THE ONLY PATENTED WATERPROOF FILTER WHICH HAS BEEN ACHIEVED DUE TO THE COLLABORATION WITH SPRING FILTER
UPPER AIRBOX
The Power filter is an evolution from the previous Nitro model. From the latter, it inherits basically the entire top cover, already optimized to pass the strict acoustic tests imposed by the federation. The shape has been designed by a computer employing the CDF (Computational Fluid Dynamics) program. Furthermore, the profile and the length of the intake tubes from 23 and 33 mm in diameter were defined. Unchanged as well was the the rain protection, which allows to protect the air filter from the entry of water without negatively impacting the aerodynamics of the system.
