Master cylinder, front and rear calipers, interchangeable brake pads, disc, an innovative brakeforce distributor system... The IPK braking system has many important aspects that need to be analysed. Developed thanks to experience gained on the track, the manufacturer has implemented these features on all its production models, from KZ to Mini Kart.

The master cylinder, used for all classes, is made of aluminium, machined from solid and produced using CNC machinery. Inside the cylinder there is a 19 mm diameter piston. Located above the cylinder is a “stroke recovery” bowl, whose task is to guarantee the same stroke of the brake pedal even when brake pads are worn. Externally, the master cylinder is titanium-gold anodised, like the other accessories on the chassis; the oil in the system is Xeramic brake fluid dot 5.1.
The soul of a braking system is the rear brake caliper, which equips both shifter and non-shifter karts. Several years of development have led to IPK specialists selecting the radial type attachment. This solution enables the elimination of the flexing during operation that occurred with a lateral attachment. The caliper, machined from solid, is an aluminium monoblock produced using CNC machinery that guarantee uniformity and centesimal precision. The braking force of the brake pads towards the disc is exerted by two 28 mm diameter pistons.
