6 doubts (solved!) About kart seats - part 2 of 2

Second episode of our "True or False" dedicated to seats. This time we focus, thanks to the support of Steve Tillett (Tillett Racing Seats), more than anything else on the "stiffness-flexibility" topic, as you can see from the topics addressed, listed below:

1. Fiberglass seats are very popular, but carbon fibre seats are the best in terms of performance

2. In the history of karting, we have always worked on the flexibility of the seats to manage the setup

3. You just have to have a more rigid seat to have more grip

4. The seat affects the flexibility of the chassis in a diagonal direction

5. Karts work a bit like cars: soft suspension means more grip, so using a soft seat is equivalent to having more grip

6. Use of hard seats and soft seats: the same does not apply to the various classes (MINI, single-speed, shifter, rental …)
