WSK SUPER MASTER SERIES: MARCO ARDIGO' KZ2 CHAMPION
TKART Staff
26 April 2014

HOT NEWS - TKART - WSK SUPER MASTER SERIES - Muro Leccese -The La Conca final of the "Formula 1" of international karting was probably teh least exciting - at least for spectators who think that overtakes are the best expression of skill. The values on the field, infact, were all tight and all thr drivers on track are true motorsport "idols" : speed is insane and there is no room for mistakes.

Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart/Vortex) wins both the final, after securing the KZ2 title of the 2014 WSK Super Master Seriesalready in the  prefinal.  The Italian's closest rival was Bas Lammers (FK/Parilla), but the Formula K "knight" was hampered by a very negative weekend that kept him in the shadows and on sunday he basically disappeared from view: he didn't end the prefinal and closed the final 17th. Ardigò is thus free to do what he is capable of: go fast and make no mistakes. He definitely earned his title. Nect to him on the pdoium there is Jonathan Thonon (Praga/Parilla), runner up in the title hunat after an explosive weekend. Evergreen Davide Forè is the one who claims the third step of the podium, proving he's still able of top end performances at close to age 40. Congratulations to both of them. Instead, Paolo De conto (Birel/TM) is unlucky: out of the final after just one lap for a technical problem. A realy pity, considering how fats he had been in the prefinal and, especially, for his unsuprassed ability to make overtakes happen. We are sure his date with success is simply postponed.

A super suprise also comes with the sixth place of Andreas Hansen (Tony Kart/Vortex), still a green name in the class, but in the urge to bloom soon. He even drives the best lap of the final at the end fo a weekend on the rise. Ahead of him all weekend long, his teammate Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart/Vortex) closes fourth, after winning the prefinal and keeping great speed. Instead, Mirko Torsellini (Art GP/TM) and Rick Dreezen (Zanardi/Parilla) collect up and down results: Torsellini wins one heat and is third in the prefinal, but the ends the final in 7th place, while Zanardi's Belgian driver is ultra fast, but then loses drive when the game gets tough due to a breakdwon in the prefinal. In the end, Dreezen is ninth, fruit of a 12-position climb, and most importanlty confirms his name in the KZ2. In a  professional category made of pros, Andrea Dalè (Crg/Maxter) rouns off the top 10. Worth making noise for a result like this? Sure, he races with a private team ... try to compete with all the big guns!
