OK

Within the first three laps of the race, the two drivers who started on the front row of the grid were out. There was light rain falling and on slicks the conditions were extremely difficult. The red flag came out on the fourth lap and the drivers returned to parc ferme. That gave teams the chance to not only mount wet tyres if they wished but also to apply a wet set-up.

The race restarted with classification based on how they finished the third lap: Pedro Hiltbrand (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart / Vortex / Le Cont), Lorenzo Travisanutto (Chiesa Corsa – Zanardi / Parilla / Le Cont), Flavio Camponeschi (CRG – CRG / Parilla / Le Cont), Tom Joyner (Chiesa Corsa – Zanardi / Parilla / Le Cont), Glenn Van Berlo (CRG Keijzer Racing – CRG / Parilla / Le Cont) started 19 position behind, Paavo Tonteri (KSM Schumacher Racing Team – Tony Kart / Vortex / Le Cont), David Vidales (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart / Vortex / Le Cont).

On lap 9 Joyner passed Travisanutto who thereafter retired. Meanwhile Vidales was making up positions and was up to fourth place. Leading was Hiltbrand, Joyner and Camponeschi. The Italian retired two laps from the finish elevating Vidales onto the podium.
