Caterham Cars, the legendary British auto maker, extends it well-established presence in competitive motorsports, which already ranges from GP2 to Formula 1, with its new entrance in the world of karting, motivated by the desire “to make motorsport accessible to everyone” and “provide young drivers with the opportunity to take their first steps in a career in which it will be possible to progress from grassroots racing to the pinnacle of global motorsport.”

The new team Caterham Karting is ready to make its debut backed by an organizational leadership that includes the vast karting experience of Laura Tillett, the first British female driver to compete in the CIK FIA World Karting Championship. In the meantime, the company has already unveiled its new new Caterham karts at the AutoSport International Show in Birmingham this past January, which will be the stars of a new dedicated single-brand championship set to premiere this season. Backed by Caterham’s twenty years of experience in organizing competitive auto series, the new competition will “combine fun, technology and great competition,” explained Simon Lambert, manager of Catherham Motorsport.
The goal is not just to “appeal to those looking to make a career in motorsport” offering them a complete path of development, but also to  allow so many young kids and their parents to realize a dream: “to race in a competitive and yet affordable karting series.”
The new Caterham championship has a registration cost of  6000 euro and is dedicated to drivers betwene the ages of 13 and 16. It will run over 6 rounds, on the classic format of  timed qualifying practice, heats and final. Further details to be released soon.
