1RND CIK-FIA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP FOR KZ AND KZ2 – 1ST ROUND. VICTORIES OF CAMPONESCHI AND FASBERG
TKART Staff
22 April 2015

PRESS RELEASE - TKART - Tony Kart-Vortex signs both successes in the first race and the European Championship for KZ and KZ2. Camponeschi and Fasberg win in their respective categories - Camponeschi leads the final. Ardigò wins the pole and gains all the heats and the pre-final - Corberi, Fasberg, Piccini and Laurent win nine heats in KZ2 - Fasberg wins with the finals of KZ2 - Rankings.

The first stage of the CIK-FIA European Championship could not have started better. In both categories, KZ and KZ2, we got engaged on the circuit of Naples and obtained splendid victories with Flavio Camponeschi and Andreas Fasberg.

The European Championship reserved for categories with the gear is, without any doubt, one of the most awaited and prestigious events of the first phase of the season. The first round on the Italian circuit saw us cashing two net successes.

On the fast Naples circuit (Sarno) our chassis have shown their full potential since the heats, to the point that at the summit the KZ2 ranking was crowded by Tony Kart-Vortex in qualifying already. At the end of the qualifications of KZ2 Luca Corberi, Andreas Fasberg, Alessio Piccini, Alexander Schmitz and Thomas Laurent were all in the top eight positions.

KZ. Even more effective were our two drivers, Ardigò and Camponeschi, in the premier class, who placed pole and second.
In the heats Ardigò confirmed his first position by winning two races on two and Camponeschi finished second twice, hitting in both races the best lap.
In the pre-final, while Ardigò ran undisturbed to another statement, Camponeschi fought against Hanley, earning the second place.
So the final of the first race of the European championship 2015 saw in the front row the Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone chassis of the World Champion and Vice World Champion. Right on the track where on last September we took a fantastic double world title.
At the start of the final Camponeschi jumped to the lead and ran, unopposed, to victory. The satisfaction for our colours was completed by the fantastic third place of Marco Ardigò, who crowned the successful debut in the championship.
In the provisional standing Flavio Camponeschi is the leader with 33 points and Marco Ardigò is third (26 points).

KZ2. The wonderful affirmation of our Fasberg is supported by the very best performance of our chassis, as already mentioned, all in the first positions throughout the entire event.
Already in the heats the performance of both Racer 401 and Krypton 801 are top, so that out of a total of fifteen qualifying races the Tony Kart-Vortex are eight times leaders. Corberi wins five heats, Fasberg three,Piccini and Laurent one each. The latter, which runs with the Tony Kart of Cédric Goudant Racing team, gets four times the best lap during the heats.
In pre-final Corberi is unreachable on track and wins. Unfortunately, an infringement in the starting procedure (he moved with traffic lights still on) costs to our driver 5" and relegates him in sixth place. The best lap of the pre-final goes to the German Alexander Schmitz of KSM Racing Team.
In the final Fasberg takes the lead in the early stages, losing the leadership only from the third to the eighth round, which is of Kremers. During the ninth lap our driver launched his decisive attack and goes on to win, also taking the lead of the European Championship.
The success of Fasberg could be even more exciting if other Tony Kart-Vortex drivers were not relegated behind. Luca Corberi closes ninth, two positions behind the other Tony Kart of Besancenez (Cédric Goudant Racing).
Our chassis in the top ten could have been four if Piccini, now seventh, had not suffered a penalty of 10" in the post-race.
Fasberg is leading the standings with 34 points, Corberi is fifth (18 points) and Piccini seventh (12 points).

The next round of the European Championship for the categories with the gear is scheduled in May, 21st to 24th at the Spanish circuit of Zuera (Zaragoza).
