27 September 2014

HOT NEWS - TKART  - In Monza Mattia Drudi proves to be simply unbeatable, sweeeping his third victory of the Round 6 weekend.

A few meters after the start of Race 3, Lance Stroll (Prema Power Team) and Sennan Fielding (Euronova Racing by Fortec) clash pretty bad and are forced to retire.

When the safety car leaves the track and the race resumes, Mattia Drudi (Adria Raceway by Malta) waits for the right moment and attacks race leader Brandon Maisano (Prema Power Team). The Italian proves that his distinguishing caution (dictated by character as well as by budget) pays off and gets ahead of the Frenchman, despite some wheel-to-wheel friction.

Once in the lead, Drudi manages to pull away and build an advnatage, leaving Maisano to fight with Joao Vieira (Antonelli Motorsport) and Andrea Fontana (Euronova Racing by Fortec Italia Motorsport). Eventually, Fontana is the one who takes the brunt of it: he bumps into a rival and has to return to the pit box to fix his nose cone.

In the menatime, Andrea Russo (Antonelli Motorsport) has come up like a madman. He too started his race with caution from the last row on grid, but when the race was re-started he set off on a determined charge, making good use of smarts, driving skills, and speed and managed to settle behind the fast train of Drudi, Maisano, Vieira and Alain Valente (Jenzer Motrsport). In the end, Russo will be the 4th best of the F4 Championship contenders on grid (Maisano's 2nd plce finish counting only twoards the f4 Trophy).

As Russo took off, his teammate Matteo Desideri (Antonelli Motorsport) managed to get leaving them to battle amongst themselves, ahead of another dueling duo of Leonardo Pulcini and Edi Haxhiu.

At the end of the race, Desideri catches up to Russo and attempts various attacks, but eventually has to settle fro closing bhind his teammate, while behind them Shwartzman, beats Matveev to the finish-line.
