Listening to their customers and the North American karting industry as a whole, a second online karting series is set to commence on June 16th. Dubbed the ROK Cup Sim Challenge Series II, competitors will have a chance to compete in three separate classes for weekly events.

"Our first series was as successful as we could have asked for, but we have made some changes for Series II, most noticeably the entry fee and class structure," explained RTD Media's Mike Maurini. "We listened to our customers, adjusted what we could and are set to go again. With a new format, a more attractive price point and only one event a week, competitors will be able to put in extra time on track to ensure they are up to speed and ready for the first green flag on June 16th."

Working with Torque Esports and ROK Cup USA, Series II will be reduced to three classes while still providing the same broadcast as the initial program. Further streamlining the game download file upgrade and install processes with Torque Esports, the ROK Cup Sim Challenge Series II is aiming to provide a platform that is easy to use, navigate, download and install. Additionally, extra track time leading up to and between the events will provide competitors the chance to hone their online skills.

"We switched the events to Tuesday nights and only have one a week as many karting programs are getting back going and we did not want customers to make a choice between sim competition or real-life racing," added ROK Cup USA's Garett Potter. "Also, working with RTD and Torque, we have been able to bring the pricing down for less than the cost of a set of tires."

Maurini added, "Registration is now open, and practice can begin on June 9th for all registered drivers. Register early and have the chance to get on track!"

ROK Cup SIM Challenge Series II Information

• Entry Fee: $150.00 for complete series (three events)


• Race Dates: Tuesdays - June 16th, 23rd and 30th at 6:00pm EDT


• Tracks: To be announced on Monday, June 8th


• Class Structure:
  Mini: Ages 7-11
  Junior : Ages 11-15
  Senior: Ages 15+
  *Maximum 50 entries per class
  ** North American drivers only

• Qualifying : Six Minutes


• Heat Race for odd position qualifiers 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.: Six Laps


• Heat Race for even position qualifiers 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc.: Six Laps


• Top 12 from each heat transfer directly to Main Event. Driver finishing 13th with fastest lap across both heat races will also transfer.


• Bottom 25 drivers go to B Final and points continue down through 50th.

• Champion: One complete entry for ROK the RIO, or one round of the Challenge of the Americas or Florida Winter Tour, or $700 cash


• Vice-Champion: Tires, Fuel and Oil for ROK the RIO, or for one round of the Challenge of the Americas or Florida Winter Tour, or $350 cash


• Third: Entry only for ROK the RIO, or one round of the Challenge of the Americas or Florida Winter Tour, or $150 cash
