The buzz is on at the Birel home for Friday, February 17th, new date of the Kart Grand Prix Awards that will celebrate all the 2011 winners. And the following day everyone on track in Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia, Italy) to inaugurate the new shifter category KGP-KZ, with a weekend of collective tests.

On Friday, February 17th Birel will call to the stage of the “Binario 7” Theatre in Monza (Italy) the top 10 of the  2011 KGP National Championship to hand them well-deserved awards of honour and, to the top 6, the generous checks of the rich Jackpot (totaling 20,000 Euro). All this followed by awards for the top 3 of the Regional Championships and recognitions to the representatives of the specialized press and the sporting authority. The entertainment-packed evening (including one of the comedians from the TV comedy show Zelig) will also inaugurate the much-awaited novelty of the 2012 season: the new shifter category KZ, which will race next to the already well-affirmed TaG (non-shifter) in Italy’s KGP National Trophy and in the Regional Championships by BMB (see the complete calendar below) and which will allow fans of gear-shift racing to take part in the national and international events of the KZ classes  without having to switch technical equipment. The new category, in fact, foresees the use of a BMB engine homologated for the KZ with ad-hoc exhaust, Vega Green tires, and completely open choice of chassis make and model.
