BRUNO GRANA AND IAME
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Bruno Grana, Parilla, Komet, BM, Sirio... They are all names that have marked the history of karting. They are all names that belong to one of the icons of the sport: IAME. Paolo Condè, the Italian motor manufacturer’s historical memory, tells how it all began.
"Bruno Grana was an Italian post-war entrepreneur, whose economic interests were linked to a passion in a way that is difficult to come across these days. At the beginning of the 1960s, he worked at Moto Parilla and, when he saw that a new vehicle called the go-kart was making a name for itself in the United States, he grasped its potential and convinced the Parilla family to enter the market.
