Everyone today is aware of Max Verstappen’s talent. Yet there was a period, not so far back, when those who had realized the great potential of a very young kid were very few. The one who was convinced beyond any doubt was Giancarlo Tinini, owner of CRG with which Max raced his best years in karting.

“In reality, Max is not my discovery! Anyone who was not blind could see how strong he was! The first time I saw him was at the WSK collective tests in Muro Leccese, in 2009, I think. While he was racing the KF3 (the current OK-Junior - Editor’s note) I saw this young driver going very strong. I did not know who he was, only that he drove a CRG kart and that I liked, like in a crazy way, the way he drove”
