Gloves are safety devices that in karting (and motorsports in general) play a role that is as fundamental as it is delicate. These accessories, in fact, in addition to ensuring adequate protection for the driver’s hands, must combine comfort and a proper grip of the steering wheel, in order to not have a negative effect on performance. Precisely for this reason, before purchasing them, it is important to choose them (and above all try them on) with extreme care. But what are the characteristics to look for, so that you do not end up wearing gloves that are uncomfortable and provide the driver with negative sensations when driving? To help kart drivers find their way around a market as vast as that of racing gloves, we consulted the catalogs of some of the best manufacturers of FIA approved clothing (what does this mean? For further information, read “Dossier | FIA Approvals: what they are, what they are for, how long they last … the ultimate guide!”) and we have selected for each one of them the top-of-the-range racing glove models designed specifically for karting. The result is a diverse list capable of meeting a wide range of needs, from those on comfort to those on the…wallet!

Tide K are Sparco’s flagship kart racing gloves. Manufactured in stretch polyester and cotton, these gloves feature external seams and a pre-curved palm, where there is a grip made of HTX 3D Volcano, a polymer patented by the Italian company itself. Furthermore, the thumb (which is joined to the back to increase ergonomics) and the index finger are touch sensitive, thus enabling interaction with touch screens without having to remove the glove. Tide K gloves are available in 4 different colors: black, red, orange/white and black/green.
