The FIA Karting World Cup is undoubtedly the most prominent race of the KZ2 category. A qualifying event where even the slightest mistake can compromise an entire weekend, therefore it is crucial to be ready for any contingency or variable during this event. This significant weekend, from the 8th to the 10th of September 2023, took place on the Wackersdorf circuit, in Germany. It is a comprehensive track, which alternates faster sections (where top speeds of 140 km/h may be achieved), with tight hairpin turns to be taken in second gear, these are added to a high-speed chicane and a slight up and down in the section leading to the very last corner. In conclusion, not exactly one of the easiest tracks on the circuit of tracks! Winning the title – during the finals raced in dry conditions and with temperatures close to 30°C – there was Niels Tröger, a German driver of the Maranello SRP Factory Team, behind the wheel of the MK3 chassis powered by TM Kart, equipped with LeCont SVC Prime tires. We had the opportunity to find out what accessories and setup solutions were used during the finals. Let’s see them together.

HUBS AND RIMS

The winning chassis of the 2023 FIA Karting World Cup is equipped with the Maranello brand’s R2.0 magnesium set of rims. The kit consists of H132 front rims and H212 rear rims. They are fitted onto hubs, also made of magnesium and, once again, Maranello branded. They are considered the “highest standard” model for Shifter chassis, therefore offered as a standard feature at the time of purchase as well. Their measurements are 40 x 80 mm (front) and 50 x 98 mm (rear).
Indicative prices:

  • Front H132 magnesium rim (FM0.05196): approximately 82 euros (VAT included)
