19 years after the world championship won by Gianluca Beggio, Birel ART returns to the top of the KZ class world. He does it with the CRY30 S10 chassis, thanks to which Marijn Kremers and Riccardo Longhi got to the first and second steps of the podium. The same chassis that not only presents some differences compared to the S10 already analyzed in our “Under Review” section, but which was also prepared differently by the two drivers to adapt to their different driving styles.

The subject to be analyzed is particularly interesting, in order to understand both the different choices of the two drivers engaged in the same race, with the same kart, and to find out how well the Birel chassis was able to adapt to both setups, given the first and second place won by Kremers and Longhi. A confirmation of the adaptability of the Birel ART chassis, which during the season proved to be extremely competitive with all drivers. Just think of Alex Irlando the great European, whose victory vanished due only to an accident that was not caused by him.

First, however, let us start with the general improvements. The most important regards the two bends of the chassis next to the seat which, although without altering the previous design, now follow a different profile designed to increase the cornering grip.

The new floor pan immediately catches the eye, as it now features two side fins which are visibly more developed compared to the previous version. The idea, which combines aesthetics and optimization of  air flow, is to cover the entire area enclosed between the chassis tubes in the pedal area. An idea that other manufacturers are experimenting more or less with. For the World Championship in Lonato, Birel ART has opted for the 506-front bumper spoiler manufactured by KG. The Lissone company offers customers the choice between the new version and the Free Line FL F1 model (the accessories line by Birel ART). The choice between the two is dictated by aerodynamic needs, different for each circuit, and the right compromise between channeling the air flow and aerodynamic load on the front wheels.
