2020 can almost be considered the year zero for the MINI class, due to the coming into force, from 1 January 2020, of technical approvals drafted by the CIK-FIA body specifically for MINI class karts. A general standardisation of components aimed at the definition of a common international technical framework, which thus saw the development, construction and approval of new chassis by the main kart manufacturers. These include the CRG Black Mirror chassis (one of the most successful companies, based in Lonato sul Garda) with Tinini Group international approval valid for 4 years until 2024 (approval no. 002-CH-18).
There are many technical solutions applied on the new chassis for the MINI class: including the connecting plates of the steering rods to the column to change the Ackermann angle, the forged braking system, and the Sniper system for adjusting the characteristic angles (camber and caster) positioned only in the upper part of the C.
But let's take one step at a time: after having focused in recent years on the Hero model for the MINI class, also approved internationally until 2024 by CIK-FIA (approval no. 002-CH-55), the CRG Racing Team technicians decided to support it in 2020 with the new Black Mirror chassis, which responds more to market demands for a more traditional body shape. That’s right, because despite CRG's certainty that the two models can give excellent performance in all grip conditions, they are based on two bodies that are easily distinguishable from each other. The main difference can be seen between the seat area and the "C" where the side fairings are of the double curved type in the Black Mirror and single curved in the New Hero.
