T4 SERIES

HOMOLOGATION
The Tillotson Racing T4 Mini was developed for participation in the MINI category of the T4 Series, a single-make championship established by Tillotson and competing in over 40 countries. This championship features a 4-stroke engine combined with a racing chassis. Although designed for these competitions promoted by the Irish manufacturer, the kart's chassis and engine are both FIA Karting homologated. The chassis bears the approval number 006-CH-15 CIK-FIA, while the TPP-225RS-03 engine is identified with 042-AIE-22. Tillotson guarantees that its products have undergone the entire FIA Karting approval process, in compliance with international quality and safety standards.

TUBES DIAMETER
The T4 Mini’s chassis, constructed from 28-mm-diameter, 2-mm-thick tubing with a wheelbase of 950 mm, is entirely hand-welded. The chassis is derived from a racing model produced by IPKarting S.r.l. for use with 2-stroke engines; specific modifications have been made to optimize it for the 4-stroke engine by Tillotson Racing.

ENGINE
The T4 Mini is equipped with a 225 cc 4-stroke engine, the Tillotson TPP-225RS-03, developed specifically for the T4 Series and paired with the Tillotson FM19-1A float-type carburetor. It features digital ignition with a rev limiter set at 6,000 rpm and a recoil starter. Introduced with the 2025 model year, it is based on the engines of the Junior and Senior versions but incorporates numerous components specific to the Mini category.

TRASMISSION
The T4 Mini falls into the category of single-speed karts, one of the two main types of karting engines, alongside models equipped with gear box.

RECOIL STARTER

STARTER
The Tillotson engine powering the T4 Mini is fitted with a recoil starter. To start it, switch on the ignition and then pull the cord to set the engine in motion. Thanks to the centrifugal clutch with which the engine is equipped, the kart can remain stationary while the engine is running, unlike direct-drive karts where the engine must be switched off.

The Tillotson Racing T4 Mini kart, launched in 2021 following the Junior and Senior models, was designed to offer young drivers a kart that combines affordability and ease of use with a driving experience similar to that of standard 2-stroke racing karts. The goal was to create a “bridge” between rental and racing karting, thanks to a vehicle accessible as early as age 8 and capable of accompanying drivers on a path of growth that would lead them to the higher categories of the T4 Series. A historic Irish manufacturer known for its diaphragm carburetors for 2-stroke engines, Tillotson has developed a range of karts featuring racing chassis (produced in collaboration with IPKarting S.r.l.) and 4-stroke engines designed and built in-house.

It also conceived and promoted the T4 Series, a one-make championship now active in over 40 countries, characterized by technical regulations that ensure equal performance, keep costs low, and mandate standardized “long-life” components. With the 2025 Model Year version, the T4 Mini has adopted—replacing the previous 196 RS—the same engine base as the other three categories of the T4 Series, simplifying management for customers and dealers. The kart combines a FIA Karting-homologated chassis with the TPP-225RS-03 engine (also FIA Karting-homologated), a 225 cc, 15 hp 4-stroke engine equipped with an FM19-1A bowl carburetor. The category in which the Tillotson Racing T4 Mini M.Y. 2025 competes, the T4 Mini, is intended for children aged 8 to 12, with a total “kart + driver” weight limit of 110 kg.
