Academy Trophy, Sarno: Partyshev wins at Sarno after De Haan DSQ
Yanek Sterzel
16 June 2019

Robert De Haan (Exprit/Vortex/B’stone) and Oleksandr Partyshev (Exprit/Vortex/B’stone) arriving equally in points for the pole position’s final so today’s last heats were key for the pole position hunt.

De Haan beat Partyshev in heat C-D and secured the pole position for the final race. Alongside the Dutchman was going to start Kajus Siksnelis (Exprit/Vortex/B’stone) who won heat A-B.

The final was a masterclass for Robert De Haan who immediately escaped from his opponents and won easily the race by a supreme margin of 5.8 seconds over the second classified driver.

But that amazing victory was quickly delated from race results. De Haan was disqualified after the race by the Stewards due to working on the kart on the pre-grid.

So, without knowing that, the drivers who were fighting for the second race were fighting for the race victory. That position was initially in hands of Kajus Siksnelis who battled with Oleksandr Partyshev the whole race for this place.

Partyshev finally beat the Lithuanian driver to finally win the race by 1 second. Paolo Ferrari (Exprit/Vortex/B’stone) completed the podium.

The disqualification of Robert de Haan opens up the championship once again for the season finale this September at Lonato (Italy).
