Muro Leccese – At the La Conca International Circuit, Baby Race once more confirmed its status as a great player of the international karting scene. In this WSK Champions Cup on two rounds the Italian team saw a great deal of its drivers collect points and top placements. The best of the lot was defending KFJ World Champion Alessio Lorandi, who kicked off his debut season in KF the best way possible: he triumphed in both the Pre-final and the Final of round 1 and placed 3rd in the Final of round 2, displaying an explosive thirst for victory.
“I am so happy” – says Alessio. “The ability to win is in my blood, this is what I live for and I have no intention of stopping. I know the season has just begun and reconfirming myself on top won’t be easy, but that’s where I want to be.” The driver closed the WSK Champions Cup in second place, missing the title victory by a mere ten points. In short, his result is outstanding.
The team collected good results also in the KFJ. Over the two rounds Leonardo Lorandi won two heats and placed 15th in the final point rankings (out of 94 participants). In addition, along with Lorandi two other Baby Race drivers made the finals in round 2: Laliberte and Drugovich.
Finally, in the Mini class rookie Dmitri Bogdanov conquered the overall third place in the championship at his class debut. And Nicola Abrusci e Dan Skochdopole also had a good performance overall and made it to the round 2 final.
All in all Baby Race had fantastic takings in the double weekend series: it won one final, conquered two podiums, took 13 drivers to the finals (across the 3 categories it competed in), collected several heat and Pre-Final victories, and rounded off the top 3 of the final championship standings with two of its boys. A racing team that, one competition after the next, spells out victory.
