Birel ART takes an active role in the success of the Rotax World Grand Final

31 December 2021

After the cancellation of the 2020 event, the Birel ART factory has resumed its strong partnership with Rotax on the occasion of the "Grand Finals" organised at the magical setting of the Bahrain circuit. For the supply of chassis for the Rotax DD2 and Micro Max categories, the Italian brand was once again chosen for its top-of-the-range products, its rigour, its flawless logistics and its quality of service. 108 drivers produced exciting races thanks to perfect sporting equality.

Thanks to its presence throughout the world, Rotax promotes karting by allowing many drivers to enter the discipline, while offering accessible competitions up to the highest level. Birel ART is proud to support this worldwide success and to make its winning technology available.

Tight gaps between the drivers and suspense on the track

Birel ART's reputation is well established. The brand celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2019 and has collected the most important international titles since the official Championships began. For this year's Rotax World Grand Final, it has spared no effort to produce the frames, spare parts and accessories on time, before ensuring their rigorous assembly and delivery to the Middle East. Indeed, this 21st edition took place more than 5,000 km away from the Lissone factory. The challenge was met with the Italian factory's usual mastery.

In Rotax DD2, the Birel ART CRY30 RX S14 chassis allowed the drivers to put on a beautiful show on the fast track of Sakhir, with suspense that lasted until the last lap of the Final. The experienced Dutchman Martijn Van Leeuwen won against Emirati Kyleaditya Kumaran and Latvian Patriks Noels Locmelis. In Micro Max, the smiles of the young drivers were a pleasure to see and showed the satisfaction they had in participating in this world event at the wheel of their Birel ART C28-S9 karts. Estonia's Nikita Ljubimov triumphed in Bahrain over Spain's Manuel Miguez Gayoso and Austria's Dragos Avasilcutei.

Ronni Sala, President of the Birel ART Group, commented

"The Rotax brand cup has a large market share in every continent and it is important that Birel ART is present alongside it. In Bahrain, 378 drivers representing 62 nations made the trip, including no less than 108 driving a Birel ART, in Micro Max and DD2 Max. This is an excellent image that we are sending back to all the drivers around the world. Of course, it is always easier for us to prepare for a Grand Final in Sarno rather than in Bahrain, but we have shown the strength of our factory in all areas once again. I want to congratulate Rotax for its overall organisation and especially for its management of Covid, our technical staff for the efforts made, and all the drivers for the show they put on. We had excellent feedback again and this pushes us to continue this partnership with Rotax in 2022, which will be the 10th time!"
