2016 marks the launch of the BMR Touring Kart Championships.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he BMR Touring Kart Championship is like no other championship in British karting with two of the biggest prize funds on offer - The winner of the Junior Championship wins a free drive in the 2017 Ginetta Junior Championship and the winner of the Senior Championship wins £50,000 towards their 2017 racing budget.
The Championship will run over six race weekends - visiting Clay Pigeon, Lydd and Rye House with every round counting towards the championship standings. The focus for the championship is to create a Motorsport Academy for drivers looking to progress through the ranks of the motorsport ladder.
We will be providing workshop groups on everything from PR/Media training, to fitness and working with engineers who are involved in our championship

winning British Touring Car program. Each driver will get an allocated amount of days at our BTCC headquarters and see first hand what it takes to be a professional racing driver. Not only will they be competing for the biggest prize fund on offer in British Karting but they will also benefit from becoming part of an all encompassing Motorsport Academy.
The championship is a effectively a one make series with all drivers competing on the latest Octane Chassis using the BMR 250R engine. The engine is a 250cc four stroke engine with fuel injection and produces 38BHP, all engines are electronically mapped to produce identical power and are capable of running 40 hours between rebuilds.
