At 7 Laghi Kart in Castelletto di Branduzzo took place a penultimate round that lived up to expectations: the 107 drivers registered gave life to an exciting weekend with qualifying, pre-finals and finals under the banner of uncertainty, of “wheel to wheel ”and so much pure racing! The winners were: Daniele D’Urso (100), Francesco Ruga (125), Domenico Palumbo (Senior), Mattia Ingiardi (BMB Challenge) and Cristian Tonalini (60).
100 Easykart: 4 in-a-row for Daniele D’Urso!
Fourth win out of four races, en-plein for Daniele D'Urso with pole position, victory in the Prefinal and in the Final: after taking pole with just over a tenth of an advantage, Daniele confirmed his position as the fastest in the Prefinal, but he had to fight the victory until the end in the most important race against Simone Principalli, who crossed the line in second position with a delay of seven tenths, on the third step of the podium Riccardo Tocu.
125 Easykart: Francesco Ruga makes four.
Fourth victory in as many Finals for Francesco Ruga: after Adria, Jesolo and Siena, Ruga puts all the others back in line, also winning the first Lombard stage. It was not absolute domination, thanks to Gabriele Cazzaniga who took home the pole position, the victory in the Prefinal and the second place in the last race just two tenths from the winner. Third Alessandro Girotti, in his second appearance on the podium this season.
125 Senior: Domenico Palumbo returns to success
Domenico Palumbo is back and what a return! An absolute domination in the Final with an important gap over all the other contenders. If there was no story in the Final, the weekend saw leveled performances with Rosolino Caralla the fastest both in qualifying and in the Prefinal, but then forced to retire in the Final. In second place Marco Beretta, third Roberto Baroni.
BMB Challenge: Mattia Ingiardi is the twelfth different winner out of twelve consecutive finals
Mattia Ingiardi enters the history of the BMB Challenge, becoming the twelfth different triumph out of twelve consecutive Finals (2019/2020) at the end of a weekend that saw many potential stage winners. Leonardo Principalli scored his first pole position in the category while Ingiardi himself won in the Prefinal, who confirmed himself in the Final ahead of Samuele Mengozzi and Marco Bernardi - more and more championship leaders.
60 Easykart: Cristian Tonalini wins for three cents!
Third success of the season for Cristian Tonalini in a hard-fought Final against Owen Bahobeshi, in particular the last lap saw side by side duels with continuous leadership changes: an exciting race that saw Tonalini triumph by just three hundredths of a second over Bahobeshi while in third place went to Dylan Turri. Bahobeshi and Tonalini were also confirmed in qualifying and in the Prefinal with Owen the fastest on the flying lap in qualifying and Crisitian in the Prefinal.
50 Easykart: simulations continue.
Protagonists in the Easykart paddock are also the baby drivers of the 50 Easytraining, the Easykart category dedicated to younger siblings and led by Instructor Sabino de Castro. The future protagonists of the higher categories participate in the Easykart race weekends with theoretical meetings, free practice, simulations and the award ceremony.
It was two months of very intense competition, four exciting events. As always, we spent unique moments, like a big family: we rejoiced, suffered, celebrated for the positive results and we despaired for the defeats, we made new friends, consolidated those already established and we enjoyed off-track moments. On September 20th on the new “Franciacorta Karting Track” in Bargnana (Brescia) we will decide the champions of this season!
Information for registration for the last round will be available shortly.
Stay racing, stay happy… and think Easy!
