TKART Staff
22 March 2023

The countdown for one of the most awaited events of the Endurance Karting season, the 24 Hours Karting of Italy organised by CRG, has started. The event will take place on Saturday, March 25, and Sunday, March 26, on the 7 Laghi Kart track in Castelletto di Branduzzo, Italy.

38 teams will race against each other for the victory in this fascinating event, 14 in the PRO category and 24 in the Silver one, representing 9 different nationalities (Holland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Romania, China, Ecuador and Italy). The teams that will travel to Italy to attend the event from the most faraway country will be the 3 crews from China and the one from Ecuador, which represent a concrete proof of how important and popular at an international level this prestigious Rental Kart meeting organised by CRG is.

There will be over 260 drivers overall and among these there will also be some well-known faces in Motorsport, such as the former F1 drivers Vitantonio Liuzzi (in the Next Gen team) and Ivan Capelli (Tutela Legale team), as well as many protagonists of international Endurance karting, such as the drivers of the Belgian team Full Gaz by BKRT or the French squad of NTKart. For all of them, the team to beat will be the Italian Pomposa Dream Team, winner last year and entering the race with number 1.

CRG has always lavished a lot of energy to ensure the highest organisational standards for the event, both from a technical point of view and as regards the services reserved for the teams and media promotion. For what concerns the technical part, over 40 brand-new CRG Centurion karts will be made available to the registered teams (with assignment by drawing lots) and also the central technical assistance and the management of refuelling in the race will be handled by the CRG technical staff. Speaking of services to the teams, the organisation will set up facilities on the track for the comfort of the drivers, which will range from the box area with monitors, up to the positioning of a giant screen on the circuit to have the real time rankings always at their disposal.

The staff involved in the event will be made of more than 40 people who will work in several shifts and among these there will be 3 Race Directors, supported by a monitor room with more than 15 cameras to keep every fraction of the race under control. But the real highlight of the event will be the live streaming, scheduled on CRG’s social channels (YouTube and Facebook) and which will include a TV studio for the drivers’ interviews and ranking updates with graphics updated in real time.

The CRG 24 Hours Karting will be a great party for all Rental Kart enthusiasts, an international karting discipline that boasts a very large number of practitioners. For CRG, therefore, this event will also and above all be a great showcase for its Rental Kart CRG Centurion, as confirmed by the Marketing Manager Marco Angeletti:

“Every year this event allows us to have the best international Endurance Karting drivers and hundreds of enthusiasts driving our Centurion Rental Kart on the track, receiving exceptional feedback on the feeling it provides to the driver and its reliability. In such a demanding race, almost all the crews bring the kart they draw to the finish line and in various editions we saw the victory awarded to the photo finish after 24 hours of racing, confirming how high the technical and organisational efforts we put into this event are, but above all how reliable our karts are and how the effort to make a fleet of brand-new go-karts available to the teams pays off. We are very proud of the fact that our event attracts teams from all over the world and that we can, through their drivers, promote our Rental product in the most effective way on an international level. This aspect is also amplified by the many shares of the live streaming made by individual drivers through their personal social networks, which exponentially amplify the contacts and visibility of this race. Through events such as our 24 Hours, many karting enthusiasts can discover how fun and competitive Rental Karting is, a discipline that already today has a huge number of practitioners worldwide and which can still grow in this sense, consolidating an important role in the basic kart range. This year, as in every edition, we will do our best to give the maximum technical support to the teams and to guarantee international meeting standards on every organisational aspect, from team services, to Race Direction and communication activities. And like every year, it will be very exciting to experience this race from the trackside”.

The weekend program includes Free Practice and the two Qualifying sessions (Pro and Silver) for Saturday morning, while the start of the race with the spectacular Le Mans procedure is scheduled at 2 PM. The regulation leaves a lot of room for strategies, with free driving shifts for the PRO category and a minimum of 30 driver changes, while the Silver teams will have to make at least 35 driver changes and cannot perform driving stints longer than 1 hour.

Entrance to the circuit will be free and could be a good opportunity to discover a karting discipline that is truly within the reach of all enthusiasts.
