TKART, exclusively, is able to show you a technical innovation adopted by KR on one of their karts on track. It involves a specific floor that, due to its shape and construction method, seems designed to replicate the ground effect seen in single-seaters. The classic floor, with the characteristic side skirts intended to generate ground effect, is then combined with an additional floor applied under the seat.
It is clear that, if this configuration can indeed generate downforce, the goal is to harness the load that can be produced on the very first section of the Portimao circuit, which features a long, high-speed corner to be taken at full throttle after the equally long start-finish straight.
