Round 2 - WSK Super Master Series: Lando Norris back in pole position

HOT NEWS - TKART -- WSK SUPER MASTER SERIES - This qualifying Friday in Castelletto di Branduzzo, for round 2 of the WSK Super Master Series, featured a welcome comeback on the high end of the standings in KF by Lando Norris (Fa Kart/Vortex), who scores the fastest time.

True: the English driver is at his season debut in the queen category of non-shofter karts, but his past is made of victories and successes and his move to the KF started , in the first outings of the season, with alternating fortune and concrete results that didn't shine. Now he's conquered this pole position. Behind him is Karol Basz (Tony Kart/Vortex), who confirms to be in mesmerizing shape and is becoming synonymous with quality. Might he still be the man to beat this weekend? We'll find out soon, but the feeling we get is that he most definitely is. Callum Ilott (Zanardi/Parilla) is third fastest overall. World champion Tom Joyner (Zanardi/Parilla), instead, is further back, in 14th place. Pleasant surprises, on the other hand, come from Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart/Vortex), Niko Kari (Tony Kart/Vortex), fifth fastest overall (though the Finn had already shown good things in previous outings), and Sidney Gomez with the 8th best time (CRG/TM): this time the Venezuelan kept a mad pace. A good Friday, with 6th place, for Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart/TM), 2013 KFJ world champion, who continues to place on the top end of the KF this year. Same tune for another catgeory rookie, Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart/Vortex). The two class stars Felice Tiene (CRG/TM) and Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic/Vortex), instead, are a bit in the shadows, respectively 12th (+0.311 from pole) and 15th (+0.349). While the Irtalian needs to work off some winter rust, this being his first WSK race of the season, Nielsen doesn't have excuses. The same goes for Tom Joyner (Zanardi/Parilla), who confirms his tendency of starting off the weekend on the slow end witha "diesel" pace. We are expecting all three among Sunday's top players.

A final note of mention goes to a market news: Julien Darras leaves Kosmic Kart Racing Department and joins Energy Corse. He is 21st, consequence of his need to familiarize with the new vehicle and team. He deserves a "training" race, so for the moment we suspend all judgment on his performance.
