HOT NEWS - TKART - Fresh factory news! The Italian manufacturer is ready to unveil a brand new engine destined for the junior classes of Australian karting, the IAME KA100 Reedjet.
The new IAME engine is fruit of an important collaboration that started 4 years ago between the legendary factory and Karting Australia (KA), the organization that recently took over the management of the national karting scene (click here to read the August press release on TKART), revoluzionizing its racing structure and categories.
The 100 cc reed-valve intake engine was developed precisely for the new junior classes - KA Junior and KA1 - that will star in the new Australian Kart Championship set to kick off on April 1st and will be available at the Club and State level as early as January 1st 2015.
Australian homologation is set to be granted before the end of November and the first 1000 units should be shipped to Australian before Christmas. Import and distribution is handled by Remo Luciani's Remo Racing Pty Ltd.
From a technical point of view, the winning recipy is simplicity and high technology: components reduced to the bare minimum and easy to assemble, but engineered and produced to guarantee precision and resistance.
Specifically, here are the main characteristics of the IAME KA100 Reedjet:
- 22 horse power
- 100cc displacement volume
- reed valve intake system
- analogic ingition system with electric starter
- air cooling (no radiator, water pump, belt, and relative cables)
- Tillotson carburetor with Venturi
- carter, cranckshaft, clutch and starter derived from the KZ 125cc model
- cast iron liner with 5-axis CNC machine craved ports
- cylinder body and head and cranckase made of high-resistance billet aluminum
- easy disassembly carter
In short, the ambition, to put it with Karting Australia, is to "revolutionize Australian karting".
