WSK Euro Series, rd 2/3, Lonato: what happened in KZ, OK, OKJ and Mini in the pre-finals that decide the starting grid for the finals of Round 2 and Round 3

After the morning dedicated to the last heats of round 3, Saturday at South Garda Karting in Lonato was entirely dedicated to the pre-finals that determine the starting grids of the finals of round 2 and round 3 on Sunday.

Round 2

KZ2: Longhi wins pre-final A and Kremers pre-final B

  • Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) wins Prefinal A of round B. The Italian will start from pole in the final of the second round scheduled for tomorrow.

  • Behind him the teammate Giuseppe Palomba (Birel ART Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) confirms the second starting position. He earns a position and finishes third Danilo Albanese (KR Motorsport - KR - Iame).

  • The top five is closed by the duo of the Leclerc by Lennox Racing team Matteo Viganò (Leclerc By Lennox Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) and Viktor Gustavsson (Leclerc By Lennox Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing), respectively fourth and fifth.

  • Lorenzo Camplese (SC Performance - Tony Kart - Vortex) finishes fourth immediately ahead of Tom Leuillet (Praga Kart Racing Team - Praga - TM Racing) author of a good race with three positions gained.

  • Unlucky pre-final for Stan Pex (KR Motorsport - KR - TM Racing) forced to retire. The Dutchman will not be able to compete in the final after the good performances highlighted in the heats.

  • Nobody takes the victory away from Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex) who, starting from pole position, does not leave his leadership until the end.

  • The penalties due to the nose, claim several victims. Rafa Camara (Forza Racing - Exprit Kart - TM Racing), Matheus Morgatto (Birel ART Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing), and Michael Paparo (Praga Kart Racing Team), finish 2nd, 3rd and 4th at the finish . The five seconds that are given to them as a penalty, however, cause them to slide to 8th, 9th and 11th positions respectively.

  • Nikita Bedrin (Ward Racing - Tony Kart - Vortex) wins third place ahead of Juho Valtanen (Pantano Team - KR - IAME) who has a complicated race despite starting from pole position

  • Good comeback for Gray Oliver (Leclerc By Lennox Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) who finished sixth just a few thousandths behind his teammate, Laurens Van Hoepen (Leclerc By Lennox Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing)

  • Ugo Ugochukwu (Sauber karting Team - KR - IAME) wins Prefinal A of the second round of the WSK Euro Series. The new European Champion finds himself fifth at the end of the first lap but goes back and on the penultimate lap he launches the winning attack against Alfio Spina (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex).

  • Spina finished second, the Tony Kart Racing Team rider who started in third place leads most of the race. Third Coskun Irfan (Ricky Flynn Motorsport - Kosmic Kart - Vortex) in a comeback of three positions.

  • Brando Badoer (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) has no rivals in Prefinal B and wins with a three second advantage over Harley Keeble (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex).

  • Good performance for Maxwell Dodds (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing) who finished third by recovering six positions from the start.

  • Followed by Kucharczyk Tymoteusz (Birel ART Racing - RK - TM Racing) and Rafael Modenese (Leclerc By Lennox Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) who close the top five.

  • Kai Sorensen (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing) starts from pole position and wins undisturbed ahead of Christian Costya (CRG - CRG - TM Racing). The Spaniard, who started from second position on the grid, first finishes fourth, then comes back and finishes less than 3 tenths behind the leader.

  • On the other hand, Jan Przyrowsky (AV Racing - Parolin - TM Racing) recovers 5 positions and finishes third, preceding Kean Nakamura-Berta (Team Driver Racing Kart - KR - IAME)

  • Adam Hideg (Kidix - KR - IAME) retired on the first lap and lost access to the final, starting from third position.

  • Retirement, however, for Marijn Kremers (Birel ART Racing - Ricciardo Kart - TM Racing) who sensationally does not make it to the final.

  • Third position for James Wharton (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing), ahead of the Brazilian Rafa Camara (Forza Racing - Exprit Kart - TM Racing)

  • Good fifth place for the rookie in OK, Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing)

  • Juho Valtanen (Pantano Team - KR - IAME) wins by force who, after finishing in third position, recovers finishing in front of Luigi Coluccio (Kosmic Racing Department - Kosmic Kart - Vortex Engines), who started from third position

  • Nikita Bedrin (Ward Racing - Tony Kart - Vortex) finishes third, ahead of Gray Oliver (Leclerc By Lennox Racing - Birel ART - TM Racing) and Charlie Wurz (Exprit Racing Team - Exprit - Vortex)

  • Of note is the excellent comeback of Michael Paparo (Praga Kart Racing Team) who finished the eighth race, recovering 8 positions compared to his place on the starting grid.

  • Prefinal A sees one of the protagonists leave the scene: Ugo Ugochukwu (Sauber karting Team - KR - IAME), started from pole, on lap 5 is forced to retire following an accident with Rashid Al-Dhaheri (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing) who will receive a 10 second penalty.

  • Igor Cepil (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) and Rafael Modonese (Leclerc By Lennox Racing - Birel Art - TM Racing) win, first and second at the finish line, who scored two excellent comebacks of 8 positions compared to their position in starting grid.

  • Retirement also for Coskun Irfan (Ricky Flynn Motorsport - Kosmic Kart - Vortex) who started from second place.

  • Undisturbed wins Arvid Lindblad (KR Motorsport - KR - IAME) who, starting from pole, precedes Maxwell Dodds (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing)

  • Alfio Spina (Tony Kart Racing Team - Tony Kart - Vortex) scored a super race: he recovered 8 positions and finished third, also scoring the fastest lap.

  • Complicated race, however, for Nikola Tsolov (Dpk Racing - KR - IAME) who starts from second position but immediately loses positions and closes 8th

  • Second position for Kai Sorensen (Parolin Racing Kart - Parolin - TM Racing) ahead of Jan Przyrowsky (AV Racing - Parolin - TM Racing) and Griffin Peebles (AV Racing - Parolin - TM Racing)

  • Fifth place, eight tenths from the winner, for Kean Nakamura-Berta (Team Driver Racing Kart - KR - IAME) who started from pole position.

  • Antonio Apicella (Team Driver Racing Kart - KR - IAME) wins pre-final B after finishing in sixth position. Mark Kastelic (Team Driver Racing Kart - KR - IAME) concludes behind him, starting from pole position.

  • Third place, however, for the Spanish Christian Costya (CRG - CRG - TM Racing) who precedes Marcus Saeter (Revolution Motorsport - Energy Corse - TM Racing).

  • Excellent comebacks of fifth and sixth classified, Adam Hideg (Kidix - KR - IAME) and Kimi Tani (La Motorsport - Intrepid - TM Racing), who recover 6 and 8 positions respectively.
